π HDNA SATURDAY UMPIRE OF THE YEAR | ELLA CHIVERS π€ππ
A very special first for United GC Netball Club!
We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Ella Chivers has been named the 2026 HDNA Saturday Umpire of the Year. ππΌ
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Ella only began umpiring this year. She progressed from a White Bib learner through the umpiring pathway to earn her Junior Association badge, becoming the youngest umpire ever to achieve her JA badge at HDNA.
Ella has shown maturity well beyond her years. Her ability to read the game, remain composed on the sidelines, communicate confidently and take control of a match has been wonderful to watch develop across the season.
A very special shoutout also goes to our incredible Umpire Convenor, Sienna Crews. The time, patience and dedication Sienna gives to developing our young umpires continues to shine through. To see one of our own receive this award just twelve months after Sienna herself was named Saturday Umpire of the Year is pretty special.
The work happening within our umpiring program is something our club is incredibly proud of, and we feel very lucky to have Sienna leading and mentoring the next generation.

Where does United GC play and train?
We play and traing from HDNA (Hinterland District Netball Association) based at Firth Park in Mudgeeraba QLD
What days do you play and train?
We train on a Tuesday afternoon between 4pm – 6pm.
Game days are Saturday morning between 8am – 2pm. (You will be allocated your set game time once numbers are final and HDNA draws are released)
How much does it cost to play Netball?
Each year can vary depending on costs passed down from HDNA, however it’s approximately $307-$350 to register your player for the season. (For Juniors this fee includes a training shirt and for ALL ages the club also covers the cost of teams attending 1 carnival throughout the season).
